Today I would like to express my gratitude for Massage. While there are many practices of the art and/or science of massage depending on your perspective and culture, I’m sure we can all agree one of its primary intentions is to relax. What must we relax from you ask? Name it. Modern man, present company included, has developed a brilliant way
of self-creating stresses. (Like daily blog posts for instance) And though it may seem as though the world has thrust taxing adversities upon us without justification, I’m sure if we regress in our memory long enough, we’ll find it was a decision we personally made that led to our current strife. You may have decided to go to law school so you chose to have to study and cram for the bar exam. You might have chosen to hang out with your friends instead of staying home to work on your passion project or presentation causing last minute fiascoes that may have been avoidable. You may have even decided to keep the baby. Whatever your choices were then, the consequences of those choices are still present today, being carried around in little toxic stress balls that cause undue muscle contraction and tension. Massage is a way of releasing that bristly and icky mess, allowing your energy, and thereby your best self, to flow freely. The world’s best performers in any medium usually have a “personal masseuse” on staff. Olympians. Rock Stars. Actors. Senators. Congressmen. Yes, relaxing, specifically massage, is a very important facet in most happy endings. Too bad the cave men didn’t have massage techniques. They might have found the ability to stand erect sooner. Certainly helps members of mankind today.
