Joy Through December – Day 10

Steadily blazing along in it’s thirty seventh season, one show has continued it’s insistent pursuit of spreading joy throughout the world. A show that not only stands on it’s own merits as a pantheon of funny, but a launching pad of the wittiest, funniest, and hard working people in entertainment, Saturday Night Live. With it’s revolving door of top tier talent, and some not so top tier, this show has endeavored through every identity of the NBC brand in that time while striving to provide the tightest and most amusing sketches available that week. Some have missed. And some have marked a generation. You know who they are. You quote them at work on Monday, and talk shit about them the rest of the week. But one thing that doesn’t change? At 11:30pm, you turn your television on to watch the lead sketch with the longest running phrase of joy known to television, the United States, and the World, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”
