If for nothing else among his accomplishments, Bill Veeck, whose Baseball Hall of Fame plaque is pictured, would have been so honored simply for owning the Chicago White Sox on July 12, 1979. That is the night of the infamous Disco Demolition Night promotional fiasco that attracted some 90,000 people to the 52,000 seat stadium with the intent to detonate their disco album collection.  Suppose this is a cautionary tale about what happens when passion is misdirected in public places.
